Over the years all our pets have been shelter animals. It bugs me that people buy dogs from the mall pet stores who are supplied by puppy mills. It bugs me even more that the USDA, charged with inspection and regulation of breeders licensed by them are doing the same shoddy job they do in other areas. And Congress lacks the balls to fix the animal welfare laws which is a sad state of affairs since we expect them to manage the country. If they can't even deal with simple things how can we get the people stuff fixed. Hmmm, for a moment I forgot who owns the Congress. Sorry.
Some 3 to 5 million animals are extinguished every year which means that about 60% of the dogs in shelters are killed, every year. Sounds like a third world country. By the way, the Show Me State of Missouri has been reported to have one of the worst puppy mill situations in the country. Are they a Tea Party state?
