Couple days ago, loving 3D glass as I do, I was remembering Paul and – I think Rebecca? – discussing making chessboards with a drawer for the pieces.  My memory is there were issues about how to get the drawer to slide easily.  I see the chessboard in the gallery.  Hey Paul, what was your final solution to the drawer?

I made three and didn't have any trouble with the drawers.  I line the drawer-hole with peel-and-stick felt.

I heard that Rebecca has trouble with her drawers when the waistband loses its elasticity.

……………. there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worthwhile doing as simply messing about in boats.

Hey guys. Sorry no posts for awhile. Lot stuff going on in life.  As for the chessboard drawers. I make the drawer just slightly smaller than the hole. Needs to be  real close so doesn't have much play. Then fasten felt to the bottom of the drawer. makes a nice smoth sliding drawer. Picking up the chessboard unless you put some kinda latch on needs to be done arefully.

Happy New Year to you all. Don't drive if going to be celebrating. Myself will be on a midnight train ride. Dang surenot going to be kissing the Engineer either. LOL
