Do we allow commercial messages on this new board??

……………. there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half so much worthwhile doing as simply messing about in boats.

No, we don't.  The referenced message was simply an advertisement aimed at selling books.  I'm not judging the value of the books or their usefulness, but this board is not the place for commercialism.  We exchange information here and share experiences, but there are other boards that promote commercialism.  SF does not SELL or promote advertising.  You might note that we also have no sponsors.

I happened to read his posts on both this board as well as Warners' board & frankly thought that the tone of his posts were rather arrogant.

He mentioned Tiffany in his posts as an example well I hate to point out that many of Tiffanys' most beautiful works contain no plating, this is also true for LaFarge & both are considered among the giants in glass.

While I've been using plating since before he even got into doing glass I never considered not using it as being stuck in a rut. There are many times when that technique is not necessary to produce a truly beautiful work of art.

Frankly I consider being willing to cut into the center of a sheet of glass to extract the perfect piece of glass for whatever project that one is working on to be of more importance than plating.

So the sheriff Rode into town on her ol'gray mare, and cleaned out them wrong-doers. The crowd applauded – clap, clap.

The Old Mare was retired long ago.  It's not a suitable vehicle for a Sorceress.  I've replaced it with the young RED DRAGONWink
